Green Mountain Power has notified the Town of West Windsor that its plan to bury power lines along Brownsville‑Hartland Road is paused while GMP explores redesign options that would provide a better fit for an overhead installation along the pavement. Highway Foreman Mike Spackman reported GMP is investigating stronger, more insulated overhead lines to improve resilience against wind and storm damage.
Town staff will follow up with GMP and relay additional information as it becomes available. No construction schedule, budget change, or formal agreement was recorded in the Selectboard minutes; the update was noted for the record and flagged for future follow up by the Town Administrator.
