Mark Higgins proposed forming a Study Committee on Parking & Event Fees to evaluate options to generate revenue from town parking lots (Ski Tow Road and the end of Coaching Lane) and to consider event fee models for town properties. The board discussed objectives, membership, and Open Meeting Law (OML) considerations; Town Administrator Matt Frederick will consult the Vermont League of Cities and Towns (VLCT) for guidance on OML applicability.
The Selectboard named an initial membership slate including Ted Siegler and Erik Schutz (Conservation Commission), KG Moore and Shelley Seward (Ascutney Outdoors), Jim Congdon (Ascutney Trails Association), and Erik Boedtker (West Windsor Volunteer Fire Department). John Brodie moved to establish the committee with the outlined membership; the motion was seconded by Mark Harley and carried unanimously. The committee will report to the Selectboard and deliver final recommendations when ready.
