Selectboard appoints interim moderator and fills Housing Commission vacancy

With the elected Town Moderator position vacant following the recent passing of the town’s longtime moderator, the Selectboard discussed desired traits for an interim moderator — being known to residents, trustworthy and able to moderate fairly — and voted to appoint Shelley Seward as Interim Town Moderator to call Town Meeting to order and announce Article 1 so the meeting can proceed to elect a permanent moderator. The motion was made by Mark Harley, seconded by John Brodie, and passed unanimously.
The board also appointed West Windsor resident Dan Preston to fill a vacancy on the Housing Commission after the commission recommended his appointment at its Jan. 29 meeting; the Selectboard tabled a decision on setting terms for commission members pending review and presentation of the Housing Commission Charter at a future meeting.
