The Selectboard voted on Feb. 9 to adopt the State of Vermont’s updated Town Road & Bridge Standards, promulgated Jan. 21, 2026. The amendments highlighted by staff include an 18‑inch minimum diameter for cross culverts, prescribed practices for stabilizing roadside ditches, and an expectation that municipalities upsize culverts that frequently plug or wash out. The minutes note that these practices "are already the standard operating procedure for the West Windsor Highway Department."
Following the adoption the Selectboard authorized a town representative to sign the Agency of Transportation (AOT) Certificate of Compliance for the updated standards and to sign the 2026 AOT Mileage Certificate, noting there was no change in roadway or legal trail mileage for 2025.
