Selectboard concerned about trespass, graffiti and unsecured gate at Blood Hill tower

Selectboard members raised safety and security concerns about the communications tower on Blood Hill Road after recent maintenance left the entry gate on the ground and town members discovered graffiti on the tower’s north side.
Mark Harley told the board that residents improvised a temporary securing of the gate but a permanent repair is still needed. “Following a maintenance visit in October, the entry gate was again left on the ground,” Harley said in the meeting minutes. Harley and Mark Higgins will contact American Tower, the property owner, and Town Administrator Matt Frederick will pass the information to the Windsor Police Department for any additional follow-up.
The board did not record any formal motion to repair the gate or hire contractors during the meeting; the minutes record direction to contact the tower owner and local police to address trespass and vandalism.
