Following a resident report of pooling water in an area typically dry near the intersection of Ski Tow Road and Village Lane, P2 Environmental recommended a line location and leak test to determine whether an unmapped distribution or service line is leaking. The Selectboard authorized an amount not to exceed $1,500 to hire Button Underground Locating to perform the investigation, to be paid from the Mountain Water System Repairs & Maintenance line item (32-5-32-434.00). John Brodie moved the authorization; Mark Harley seconded and the motion passed with all in favor.
Town staff noted that, under the Water Ordinance, the water system is responsible for system components up to the curb stop and property owners are responsible for components from the curb stop to the dwelling; the locating test will determine the responsible party if a leak is found.
