Updated Vermont guidance on Emerald Ash Borer movement shared with West Windsor

Ken Parrot briefed the Selectboard on updated Vermont guidance concerning Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Under the joint order summarized by Parrot, movement of EAB-infested ash logs and firewood is restricted during flight season (June 1–Sept. 30) to within a single infested town and between adjacent infested towns; during the non-flight season movement through uninfested towns is allowed only when material is transported directly to a destination in an infested town with no other stops and will be received and stored there. The order includes enforcement provisions for violations.
Town Administrator Matt Frederick said he will update the Town website with the new guidance and links to the Joint Order Regarding the Movement of Ash Wood Infested with EAB. The guidance was presented as part of the town’s effort to slow the spread of EAB, which has been confirmed in many Vermont communities including West Windsor.
