Parks director outlines Bog Road restroom project, targeting spring 2027 availability

Pete Murray, Parks and Recreation director, told the board the Bog Road restroom project has planning‑board approval, site design and septic sizing completed for anticipated event demand, and that construction drawings and bid specs will follow DEP permitting. “We will be adding a 200 square foot building outside of the football field... and then we will be expanding the snack bar outside of the baseball field to accommodate those restrooms,” Murray said.
Murray said the project will convert three existing water points and portable toilets to flush restrooms (two buildings with two stalls each plus a maintenance area) and tie the running water to a sewage/septic system sized for the site; one staff restroom inside the maintenance building will remain year‑round while other restrooms may be winterized. He estimated permits could take three to six months and construction could be late fall/winter for a spring 2027 opening.
