At the end of its open session, the Aurora City Council voted to adjourn into closed session to discuss collective bargaining and salary schedules. The mayor read the statutory basis for the closed session—Section 2(c)(2) of the Open Meetings Act—and a motion to enter closed session was made by Alderman Smith and seconded by Alderman Garza.
The clerk called the roll and the motion carried 11–0. The open session adjourned to closed session at 6:38 p.m.; no further public business was conducted in open session after that time. The council asked members of the public and staff not involved in the closed session to exit the chambers.
