Aurora honors Team Timeless for international robotics finals showing

The Aurora City Council on July 28 recognized Team Timeless, a student robotics team that advanced from state qualifiers to finish as a champions finalist at the WPI First Lego League (FLL) international event.
On behalf of the team, the student spokesperson thanked the council for the recognition. “On behalf of our team, thank you for this incredible honor,” the student said, describing a project that developed an app to help archaeologists identify artifacts more quickly. Council members and staff invited the students and their coaches forward for photographs and certificates.
The mayor’s office noted Team Timeless progressed through local qualifiers and an Illinois state championship before receiving an invitation to the international tournament, where about 108 elite teams competed. The team credited mentors, Fox Valley Robotics, Aurora University and the University of Illinois for support.
The recognition highlights youth STEM programming in Aurora; the council closed the brief ceremony with applause and photographs.
