Administrator reports February attendance dipped to about 92%; 73 students signed up for track

Mr. Johnson gave the administrator's monthly report, telling trustees that February school attendance was "a little over 92%" and that absences were driven largely by flu and other illnesses. He said absences declined later in the month and noted the district is entering the fourth quarter of the school year.

Mr. Johnson provided activity updates: 73 students have signed up for track, the girls basketball team qualified for the state tournament with a pep rally scheduled Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and student send-off Thursday at 10 a.m., and the elementary kickoff for the heart challenge fundraising and CPR instruction was scheduled in the afternoon. He also noted kindergarten screening and registration will be held March 18 and encouraged continued CTE and Perkins engagement with regional partners such as Southeast Technical College.
