Resident warns proposed east site could worsen basement flooding and runoff

"Some of us already have water problems in our basements, and the restructuring of that field may cause even more problems," Mike said, describing how water moves from the south side of Highway 34 through the slough toward the west field and into town. He said additional runoff from an expanding industrial park on the highway’s south side would add to the risk.
Mike said the district’s continued pursuit of developing the east field feels like creating a "hostile environment" for nearby residents and asked the board to consider those drainage and pump-back constraints when evaluating site design.
