County approves plat for district parcel; purchase agreement to be drafted

Superintendent Scott reported that the county and Department of Transportation approved the plat for the parcel the district is negotiating to purchase for possible use with the athletic complex. He said the next step is drafting a purchase agreement through district counsel (Rodney) and that the board will vote on the agreement at its next meeting.
Scott said the district chose the parcel in part because the price was favorable and because the district is landlocked at its current site, and that core/drainage issues had been discussed. Board members asked whether the community could later compare the two candidate parcels; Scott recommended withholding comparative public materials until the purchase agreement is signed to avoid undermining negotiations.
