Board approves resolution to advertise for a construction manager at risk to obtain cost estimates

"In their opinion, it gives local contractors the greatest ability to take part in the project," Scott said while describing the procurement rationale.
Residents asked why the district would seek a construction manager before choosing a final site; board members and Scott said the CMAR is needed to produce realistic cost estimates that will inform later decisions about scope, location and capital issuance. The board directed that Jen, Dan and Scott review submittals before the January meeting and approved advertising the RFQ, with submissions due in early January.
The motion to approve the resolution was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
