Superintendent Scott Paulson told the board summer school began July 7 with six teachers and about 30 students attending on the days he checked, and that K–12 enrollment was approximately 339, roughly 19 students higher than the same point last year.
Paulson described multiple facility projects underway: playground replacement with rubber surfacing and new borders, replacement of three small roofs planned for later in July, a phone/intercom and network cabling upgrade, and a recently refinished gym floor that will remain off limits for about a week. "Summer school started last Monday, July 7," Paulson said, and the board fielded a few questions about staffing and timelines.
Board members asked follow‑ups about classroom assignments and registration; Paulson said the new guidance counselor will be on site for registration on August 11–12. Issues that might affect opening day — such as locker deliveries delayed by tariffs — were flagged later in the meeting during construction updates.
