The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Jan. 29, 2025, to accept an offer from Dakota Dunes Country Club to purchase a 19,408 square-foot area for the Big Sioux Levee Repair Project for $105,000. The motion to accept the offer was made by Mr. Wetz and seconded by Ms. Finzen and the minutes record the motion passed 5-0.
The decision followed an executive session called at 5:04 p.m. to discuss a contractual matter; roll call during that session recorded Beaulieu, Shanafelt, Shorma, Finzen and Wetz voting "aye." District Manager Andrew Tramp was listed as present for the executive session. The minutes state the easement related to the sale "will be signed by Dakota Dunes CID and Dakota Dunes Country Club." The special meeting convened at the Welcome Center, 335 Sioux Point Road, and adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
