The Gloversville City School District announced a $500 donation from Nourish Designs to its backpack weekend food program, Superintendent (S2) said during the board meeting.
"There is a $500 donation for our backpack program from Nourish Designs, and we thank them for their generosity," the superintendent said. He added that additional donors and in-kind contributions will be recognized at the district's August meeting and that the backpack giveaway is scheduled for Aug. 26 at Boulevard, with contingency indoor plans at the large gymnasium if weather prevents an outdoor event.
The superintendent said the backpack program provides food for the weekend to scholars in need and thanked staff and community partners who have contributed both financially and with donated backpacks.
