Superintendent and director staff presented preliminary statewide assessment results for the district: science proficiency was reported at 36%, math at 30% and English at 28%. "Our English as a district stayed the same," the director said, and staff noted the district lagged behind the state averages by double-digit percentage points in some areas and will target improvements through stronger Tier 1 instruction and targeted interventions.
The director emphasized K262 results as a bright spot, reporting K262 math at about 42% and English at 49% with strong year-to-year growth in those grades. Staff described plans for deep dives at the grade level, using vertical alignment to identify standards needing remediation, and advertised a parent information night on high-impact tutoring and interventions when school resumes.
Administrators also gave a preliminary enrollment count: about 557 K2612 students enrolled so far, with pre-K numbers still coming in. The board suggested continuing to monitor cohorts and preparing remediation plans for grades that showed declines. No decisions beyond planning and follow-up were taken at the meeting.
