Staff cited the site’s proximity to the North Peoria BRT corridor and consistency with the Unity Heritage Neighborhood Plan in recommending approval.
Commissioner Bulmash asked whether residential uses would remain allowed under RM‑1; staff confirmed they would. There were no members of the public who spoke on the item; the record includes an email from Joyce H. Brown entered after approval. The commission moved to recommend approval per staff’s recommendation; the motion passed 8‑1‑0 (Ayes: Bulmash, Craddock, Fugate, Humphrey, Shivel, Turner‑Addison, Walker, Whitlock; Nay: Hood).
