La Cygne council names Linn County Newspaper as official city newspaper

Council President Jerome Mitzner recommended designating the Linn County Newspaper as La Cygne's official city newspaper and the council approved the recommendation on a 3-0 vote (Mitzner motion; Curtis second). The approval was recorded as part of organizational items at the Jan. 15 regular meeting.
Several other organizational matters — standing committee appointments, election of council president, a Planning Commission vacancy, and appointments to the La Harper Heights/Senior Housing Board and the La Cygne Community Park Board — were tabled to the Feb. 5, 2020 meeting for further consideration. The council also approved the consent agenda (minutes of Jan. 2 and the Jan. 3–15 check register) by a 3-0 vote.
