City Clerk Jodi Wade told the La Cygne City Council on Jan. 15 that the Water Improvement Project has received $6,172,000 in combined USDA and CDBG funding under the project's Letter of Conditions. The breakdown she reported was a $2,950,000 USDA loan, a $2,722,000 USDA grant and a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Wade reviewed pay applications, accounts and USDA draws associated with the project and advised council members that the numbers reflected the total funds received to date. No vote was required on the financial reporting itself; council accepted the update as presented. The utility-code revisions tied to ongoing water operations were distributed for review and will return to council on Feb. 5, 2020 for further action.
