The Westford Selectboard voted 4-0 on Feb. 12 to award the Westford Milton Road paving contract to Pike Industries after a competitive review of proposals.
Road Foreman Sean Cushing and representatives from Pike Industries discussed the contractor's approach and why staff recommended Pike. Dave Davio of Pike Industries was present and described the company's proposed work; board members concluded the firms were competitive but supported advancing with Pike. Deb Jorschick moved to proceed with Pike Industries; Pat Haller seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
The board directed staff to finalize contract paperwork and coordinate scheduling with the road foreman. Specific contract prices and start dates were discussed with staff and the contractor but not read into the public minutes; detailed bid documents and the signed contract will be kept in town procurement records.
