The Selectboard voted to allow the highway department to use $17,500 to purchase a trailer requested by Road Foreman Sean Cushing. D. Jorschick’s motion to allocate the funds passed 4-0; the trailer is intended to move the skid steer and other small equipment rather than drive the skid steer through town.
Resident Max Tyler reported that Cambridge Road is in better condition this spring, attributing the improvement to the road crew. During discussion Dave Gauthier asked for more detail on how the trailer would be used; Town Administrator Tommy O’Connor explained the trailer will transport equipment instead of operating machines on town roads. The board asked MJ (town staff) to review reserve funds such as the salt shed account and recommend funds that could be repurposed.
