The city clerk briefed council on preparations for the upcoming election next Tuesday, Aug. 4, including consolidated precincts and early voting hours at City Hall. "Absentee ballots are very high. We've issued 26,519. And as of tonight's meeting, we have 11,114 returned," the clerk said, and described operational details for spoiling ballots and in-person early voting.
The clerk encouraged residents to return absentee ballots promptly to help staff process results and explained that staff are averaging close to 1,000 ballots per day at peak processing. The clerk also provided precinct and voting-hour details and said staff will be available for voter questions during scheduled early-voting hours.
