La Pine schedules Transportation System Plan outreach, reports short-term rental approvals and opens candidate filing

Associate Planner Nick Tierney told the council that the first public outreach event for the Transportation System Plan (TSP) update will be held during Music in the Pines on June 25 and that the next Project Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for June 17. He also reported that Deschutes County is the lead applicant on a Safe Routes grant project that has been initiated.
Tierney said staff had begun approving short-term rental applications and that two approvals had been issued to date. He further noted that a public hearing regarding a right-of-way vacation is scheduled for the next council meeting and that two pre-construction meetings were conducted that week. City Recorder Amanda Metcalf announced that candidate filing had opened for three council positions and reviewed filing deadlines.
