During department reports the council discussed facilities and operations across town. For buildings, Peter Nielsen said the town is exploring options for a scissor lift (lease or purchase) to improve safety for building work and noted a $5,000 insurance deductible per building. On roads, Nielsen said finishing work on Main Canyon Road is imminent and the town expects about $170,000 for back-road upgrades later in the year; the council also authorized county slurry-seal crews to use town water trucks and discussed installing a meter to charge per gallon.
Mary Piscitelli reviewed cemetery activity, reporting a successful Memorial Day event and about $400 in donations and that Buffo's reported bugs in grass roots with an estimated treatment cost of about $3,000. Terri Eisel said park bathrooms have water restored and that the town is seeking electrical bid estimates and possible arena sand/dirt from the county. On water, Rohn Hortin said staff are preparing a backflow/sprinkler letter and pursuing a Main Canyon water transfer to connect culinary service to town water; approvals and signatures will be required. Clerk Alisha O'Driscoll reminded council the fiscal year ends June 30 and to submit receipts promptly.
