Notes provided to the Wallsburg council from CivCo Engineering say Main Canyon Road Phase II work includes profile grinding to smooth joints, a chip seal scheduled for June 15, 2026, and final paint, with an overall target completion date of June 30, 2026. The council was told a contract modification requiring the mayor's signature (DocuSign) may be needed for UDOT coordination.
Staff also reported on the CDBG stormwater environmental review: the environmental document for the stormwater study has been approved for analysis, but State reviewer Brandon Clark indicated he will not sign off until the stormwater master plan is complete. Tribal consultation was requested from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribe (request sent February 26, 2026); no response was received within 30 days, and the State determined no cultural sites within project limits. Separately, the Joint Highway Committee awarded $873,000 for city streets in FY2029 ($813,900 grant; $59,100 local match), allowing design to begin in FY2028 and construction in October 2028 under normal Joint Highway Committee processing.
