The Mabton City Council opened its Oct. 28 meeting at 6:30 p.m. and quickly handled routine business, voting to excuse two members who were absent for family and emergency reasons and approving the meeting agenda by voice vote.
Councilmember Diane made the motions used repeatedly during the procedural items and the motions were seconded (recorded as Mary and Sophie), with the mayor announcing that the motions carried by voice vote. The council also approved the consent agenda (items A through D) by voice vote.
Separately, the council voted to table Resolution 2025-26, a proposed facility use policy for city property at 406 Washington Street, pending additional information from staff. The mayor asked for more detail from staff member Luke before taking the resolution up again.
