Teachers, students to use new butterfly research garden for curriculum projects

The presenter said the garden resulted from a summer collaboration with an Augustana biology professor and more than 70 community volunteers and students. "Every 4th and 5th grade scientists, will have to have a research project based on something in that garden," the presenter said, describing plans for students to collect data, write reports and present findings and to meet the researcher as part of the project.
Administrators said the garden will be used for multidisciplinary lessons and training will be offered to teachers so the space can be sustained as a recurring instructional resource.
