The Sarasota County School Board approved two administrative items on July 28 by unanimous voice votes: a travel-reimbursement allocation for board members and a rescheduling of the regularly scheduled August meeting.
Pursuant to state statute (as cited during the meeting), the board approved a policy allocating up to $5,000 per board member for official out-of-county travel in FY 2026–27. The motion was moved by Mrs. Rose and seconded by Mr. Edwards and passed without opposition.
Separately, the board approved moving the previously scheduled Aug. 18 regular meeting to Aug. 20 at 6:00 PM because the county has a primary election on Aug. 18. Mr. Connor introduced the scheduling change and the motion passed unanimously.
