ISG tells Stanley County School board the district faces roughly $22 million in deferred-maintenance needs

ISG representatives presented findings from a multi-day site visit and preliminary facility assessment covering the auditorium, maintenance and CTE shops, high school, middle school, elementary and ancillary sites. The consultants said priority-1 items include the auditorium roof and skylights, mechanical systems that do not meet current code where renovations would trigger upgrades, accessibility shortfalls at older buildings and locations of water intrusion; structural review found issues to monitor but no imminent life-safety failures.
ISG said their assessment is intended as a budgeting tool and will be accompanied by an "educational adequacy" analysis from staff surveys to help the district align space function with investment priorities. ISG told trustees: "We will have a draft for you at the next board meeting on January 8" and that the full report and a spreadsheet with prioritized line items and estimated costs would follow (Kyle Feasel, ISG, SEG 1130–1132). ISG estimated a district-wide total in the tens of millions and highlighted that mechanical work could account for a large portion of the cost; they emphasized this is a planning-level estimate to support budgeting, not a construction bid.
