Mayor Dawn Ramsey introduced two applicants for the city’s senior advisory committee and invited them to tell the council about their experience and interest.
Susan Bridal said she has worked in management and volunteer roles and currently serves as a day director at the Beckstead senior community. "I like... helping people and just being friendly with everyone and helping them out as much as we can," Bridal said, describing her work at the center and her willingness to help with events and food giveaways.
Pearl Port, who said she moved to the city six years ago and has been involved with the community center since 2022, described front‑desk and kitchen duties and volunteer activities including calling bingo. "I really enjoy the community and I just want to get myself more involved," she told the council.
Council members praised both applicants, noted South Jordan operates its own independent senior programming (unlike most centers in Salt Lake County that are county‑run), and asked staff to follow up on the appointment timeline and field‑trip coordination.
