Council members said they need a professional remodel plan and cost estimate before applying for competitive grants. A council member said, "we need to get an architect in there and figure out how to do all this," and participants named a local engineer (Spencer) as a likely candidate to evaluate the building, parking and accessibility.
Nancy advised checking procurement rules and using an existing contract or MOU when possible to speed work. The council tentatively agreed to arrange a site visit, gather at least informal bids and schedule a follow-up meeting with the engineer by the end of March to finalize deliverables for grant submission.
