The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval on July 28 for a short plat that will divide an industrial lot at 0 East Karcher Road so owner Jason Knorpe can build a new shop and sell the remaining lot to another small business. "My name is Jason Knorpe. I'm the owner of a small manufacturing company called Rocky Mountain Cutting," Knorpe told the commission, describing his water-jet and laser equipment and plans to add bending and finishing.
Associate planner Terry Friend told commissioners the lot is designated industrial on the future land use map and zoned light industrial (IL). Friend said the application is a boundary adjustment consistent with past subdivisions at the site, that engineering asked for an ingress/egress easement note which the applicant has added, and that staff's recommended conditions are the standard code- and plat-related items.
No members of the public signed up to speak. Commissioner Morgan moved to recommend approval and Commissioner Turner seconded. The clerk's roll call recorded Garner, Miller, Turner, Kehoe, Morgan, Kirkman and Feene voting yes; Commissioners Daffer and Copeland were absent. The commission's recommendation will be forwarded to city council for final action.
