Council schedules Feb. 27 walkthrough as part of building-remodel grant plan

Councilors discussed applying for a building-remodel grant and agreed to walk through the town hall with Nancy Toole to prepare the application. Committee member (S2) said the consultant will "walk through us with it" and recommended an open house to solicit public ideas that can be included in the application. Members proposed Feb. 27 for the walkthrough and suggested a morning start (9 a.m.) to complete work with minimal delay.
The council emphasized ADA access, internet and electrical upgrades, and designing the building to serve as an emergency gathering point for the valley. Committee members discussed using other available grants (including FEMA resources) to support match requirements and noted that economic-development language and demonstrated community engagement would strengthen the application. One councilor said, "I told her we want like 1000000 bucks," indicating a high aspiration for the project scope and funding request.
