The Little School seeks Selectboard OK to pursue 50/50 historic grant and flooring repairs

Leah Mccanna told the Weston Selectboard on Jan. 28 that The Little School received a state historical grant that requires a 50/50 match between the building owner and the state and presented quotes for both restoring the front windows and for refinishing and repairing sections of buckling flooring.
The Selectboard agreed to provide an insurance certificate to the grant administrators and asked Shawna Batogowski to send that certificate to Mrs. Mccanna. The board emphasized that supplying the insurance certificate “initiates the grant application” and does not commit the Town to any construction or payment at this stage. The Board thanked Mrs. Mccanna for securing the grant and said it will discuss the flooring project further before any funding decisions are made.
