Mansfield School Board delays 2025–26 start to Sept. 8 over construction delays

The Mansfield School Board approved an adjusted 2025–26 calendar at its Aug. 26 meeting after district staff reported construction delays. The board voted to move the first day of school to Sept. 8, 2025; four make‑up days were set for Sept. 19, Oct. 3, March 20 and April 17.
Superintendent Bruce Todd and Principal Lisa Guzman presented the revised calendar and construction status; Guzman also confirmed district enrollment is projected at 95 K–12 students. Board member Brad Murison moved to adopt the adjusted calendar and Tara Tupling seconded; the motion carried. The board set its next regular meeting for Sept. 23 at 7 PM.
The change came amid facilities updates discussed elsewhere in the packet, including irrigation and fencing work and pending renovation projects. The district did not provide a revised completion timeline beyond the one‑week delay approved by the board.
