Councilors spent substantial time on cemetery upkeep: Doyle Gardner will lead headstone cleaning and restoration work on several Saturdays in May, and the town agreed to reimburse chemical supplies. S3 said Gardner will "restore some of those pioneer headstones that have fallen over" and that volunteers will be taught how to clean and maintain stones.
Separately the council discussed installing a domestic irrigation line into the cemetery. S5 reported a contractor estimate of "$8,650" for tying a line and filter into existing valves and explained that the contractor was unsure whether additional bedding would be required. Council members debated whether to use capital funds, phase the work, or put the project out to bid and asked staff to request a written scope and three bids where required by procurement rules.
