UVM students present scavenger-hunt maps and survey; board empowers chair to finalize survey

Kyle Buck and Camille Nelson of the UVM capstone team presented project updates on April 23: property maps nearing completion, a Westford resilience index, finalized educational signage, and plans to bring an invertebrate study and student engagement to the Westford School on May 2. Buck said he will serve as the project’s data steward and is responsible for metadata standards and materials that go on the state website.
Board member Julia Andrews praised the students’ work and moved to empower Chair Pat Haller to work with the student team to conclude the survey process; the motion passed 4-0. Residents asked about state review of maps and data; Buck said he is a professional with federal experience and will serve as steward for anything submitted to the state website.
