Presenter (S1) told families they have a federal right to request information on whether a teacher is certified for the grade and subject they teach.
S1 added that families must be informed if an educator who does not meet state certification requirements teaches for four consecutive weeks. The presenters emphasized that asking questions is normal and welcomed and noted the district should provide translated materials or interpretation when possible.
