Shelby County approves DOT budget revision, adopts FY2027 CFYP and hears engineer update on road work

The Shelby County Board of Supervisors approved a revision to the FY2026 DOT budget and adopted the county's FY2027 County Five-Year Program (CFYP) during its May 5 meeting. The FY2026 revision (Revision #1) reflects increases in expenditures related to hail repair that were reimbursed by insurance and higher material costs.
Engineer Chris Fredericksen presented the revision and told the Board he expects material and repair costs to remain elevated. He also gave an operational update on road maintenance — rock haul, reclaiming rock, and dust-control work — and urged landowners to "put out their flags and leave them out for crews to apply the dust control," a request the Board recorded during the meeting.
The FY2026 DOT Budget Revision #1 and the FY2027 CFYP were each adopted by motion with unanimous support. The County will proceed with implementation under the Engineer's office plans and the revisions reflected in the adopted documents.
