Grassy Mountain Fire Department discusses 30x40 bay and future expansion with commissioners

Greg Philpot told the Board that the Grassy Mountain Fire Department would like to construct a 30 x 40 building but is not yet prepared to solicit bids. He asked for input on building size and timing and acknowledged the department’s current limits in funding and readiness.

Commissioners encouraged the Fire Board to consider a larger building to accommodate future growth and recommended they observe existing facilities in Checkerboard, Martinsdale and Ringling for reference. No formal motion or funding was recorded at the meeting; the discussion was advisory and intended to inform the Fire Board’s next steps.
