The board approved a temporary stipend of $1,500 each to five auditor's office staff members who will temporarily assume administrative support functions following the retirement of the executive assistant. Auditor Lisa Smith asked the board to authorize payroll implementation and described the stipends as temporary while the county evaluates whether to hire for the role in the future.
Supervisors also approved a job reclassification for a maintenance custodian to a facility maintenance worker at a rate of $27.78 per hour, effective Feb. 2, 2026, citing expanded maintenance responsibilities across multiple county buildings. A board member praised the employees' performance, saying the staff “have really stepped up without question or concern or comment.”
