Harvey County departments report survey extension, public safety event, facility move and tax notices

Several county departments briefed commissioners Feb. 10 on upcoming events and operational changes. Planning, Zoning & Environmental Director Karen Rothe said the online survey on regulation development for building codes and nuisance violations has been extended to the end of February and emphasized no regulatory changes have been adopted yet.
Emergency Management Director Mike Anderson announced Storm Fury on the Plains will be Thursday, Feb. 12 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the USD 373 McKinley Administrative Center; the event is free and open to the public. Appraiser Pam Thomas said her office’s move to the Pine Street building is rescheduled for March 18–24, with reopening scheduled for March 25. Treasurer Amy Perkins reported 990 delinquent tax notices were sent recently and noted antique tag renewals are due at the end of February.
County Clerk Rick Piepho also distributed bank reconciliation reports that reconciled to the December bank balance and said there were no anomalies. The reports and event notices were included in the agenda packet.
