Whitingham selects consultant to produce cost estimate for new highway garage

The Whitingham Selectboard on April 15 approved hiring Gordon Bristol of Gordon Bristol Consulting to act as owner’s representative for the town’s proposed highway garage.
The one-year contract calls for Bristol to perform clerk-of-the-works/construction manager services intended to produce a realistic estimate to support a future bond vote. The contract rate is $60 per hour with a total not to exceed $14,500. The motion to approve the contract was made by Lyman (Skip) Tefft and seconded by Dennis Pike; Chair Scott M. Reed was authorized to sign the contract.
The board directed Selectboard Administrator Gig Zboray to notify the project engineers (Stephens & Associates) of the change. The contract is described in meeting minutes as a step to obtain a clearer cost estimate before moving to a bond question for the garage project.
