Board grants multiple pardons, some with restrictions

The Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles voted July 22, 2026 to grant multiple pardons. Raymond G. Shortsleeve (AIS# 820411) received a unanimous full pardon restoring all civil and political rights. Other pardons—granted to applicants including Kenneth G. Pike (AIS# 316957), Leatselle L. Walls (AIS# 239051) and Charles R. Bush (AIS# 131116)—were approved either fully or with restrictions such as relief from habitual-offender provisions and firearms disabilities.
The minutes record that some pardons were granted despite victim-service-office opposition in individual files. The Board recorded pardons with and without restrictions and in one case ordered total remission of fines (Case No. 37CC19900001780). These actions were recorded in public minutes and are effective as documented on July 22, 2026.
