The Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles convened July 22, 2026, at 8:37 a.m. in Montgomery to hear its daily docket under Alabama Code, Title 15, Chapter 22. Chair Hal Nash and Board Members Gabrelle Simmons and Jennifer Conway conducted hearings, recorded by Board Secretary Nicole Lewis.
Throughout the day the Board issued a mix of outcomes: denials with reset dates (for example, John R. Carrithers, AIS# 256015, was denied with a reset date of July 2031), paroles granted with reentry conditions (Shelton J. Holloway, AIS# 150440, was granted parole with conditions including completion of the Perry County PREP and GPS ankle monitoring), and pardons (Raymond G. Shortsleeve, AIS# 820411, was granted a full pardon restoring all civil and political rights). The Board entered executive session at 12:25 p.m. to review select files and returned at 12:29 p.m. to vote on those cases.
