Auditor staff asked the board to reappoint Jeanne Collins as the county’s weed commissioner for a one-year term expiring Feb. 28, 2027. The auditor’s office said Collins has served in the role for several years and staff recommended reappointment; the board approved the reappointment by voice vote.
Staff also presented the 2026 noxious weed control resolution, identified in the meeting as Resolution number 116702Dash17Dash2026. Board members discussed that the list of noxious species is reviewed annually with conservation staff and that species are added as needed; the board approved the resolution by voice vote. Staff noted the county’s historical use of one-year appointments but said the code did not strictly require a one-year term and that the office would consider longer term options going forward.
