She reported that in the period described the office had 373 veterans receiving compensation totaling $779,523, plus additional pensions and DIC that brought the combined total to 426 recipients and $863,457 for the month cited.
Ruth outlined planned outreach: staff are organizing a drive-in movie event on May 28 and have requested the Iowa Department of Elections Affairs to bring the state Liberty Bell to the event. She also said the office is working with the VFW and other service organizations on outreach and supports the senior expo.
