Public commenters said postponement was appropriate because the city has no clear alternatives or service locations to direct people to, while others supported making camping prohibitions enforceable. Council members and staff said they want a clear enforcement pathway and alternatives before codifying restrictions. City attorney staff indicated the two ordinances were drafted to be consistent with each other and warned that enacting one without the other could create unintended gaps, for example affecting Sutton Wilderness park language.
